Recover Lost Data from Hard Drive

zarDid you ever have a disaster strike and needed to get access back to that data? These Disasters can come in many different forms and many reasons - Accidental Formatting, Power Surges and Spikes - Virus Attacks - or Hardware Malfunction.

Well, ZAR (Zero Assumption Recovery) will provide you with a nice set of programs that will work with FAT16/FAT32 and NTFS (Windows 3.1, Window 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP) And Limited ex2 (Linux Support)
But this program only runs on NT/2000/XP/2003

So what makes this program special?

First - The Full version only cost $99

Second - The program is easy to use (you do need some familiarity with computers) But the average Home user who know what a Hard Drive is and how many he has can run this.

Third - The program takes it time. So, when other programs fail - ZAR usually will recover more data then the others did and is more reliable. It does this by checking and cross-checking everything. The program know you want to recover your valuable data. As the name implies ZAR doesn’t rely on anything located on the damaged disk drive - it uses it algorithms to find out as much as it can about the damaged hard drive on its own. Because of this it really does do a better job.

Yes, This sounds like an ad for this program. But, I recently had a client that lost half of years accounting and data for her business. Even though I put in a very easy to use backup program - She just didn’t have the “Time” to run it. Well, I did try some of the standard recovery tools and was not able to get as much data as she wanted. I received a call from another consultant friend of mine and told him was I was working on and he suggested I give this a try. So, I took the drive over to his office and we were able to retrieve about 90% of the data off of her drive. She still has quite a bit of work ahead of her putting in the data from her daily printouts but at least it is not as bad as she thought it was going to be. And she promised to do her backups more frequently.
