Superbowl Site Hack: Another Reason to Switch Browsers

If you know me - you know I preach about switching to any other browser then using Internet Explorer. IE has its place as some sites still only work unfortunately in IE but for all other types of browsing and internet use I highly recommend using Firefox or Opera. I mostly use Firefox as I love the tab browsing and the plug-ins that you can use for it - Such as weather bar (Forecast Fox Enhanced) or The Gmail Popup to organize your gmail and quickly login and read your emails.

People ofter wonder how they get virus and spyware installed on their computers. Mostly it is by visiting a website that has malicious code installed on it. Well if you visited the Official Dolphins Stadium Website was hacked and had this malicious code installed on its pages (See Websense for Original Report on this Hack). This Same exploit was also found on several of the Center for Disease Controls Websites and a Prevention Health Marketing Site.

If you were browsing this site with Internet Explorer Then just by visiting a "Trusted" Site (www.DolphinsStadium.com) a file is downloaded onto your computer that allows full access to the computer and is also a keylogger which reports back all the things that you typed on your keyboard including any personal info (SS#, Bank Card Info, Letters to your Girlfriend etc….) This is how hackers get your personal info to perform a personal attack on your credit.

I would highly recommend visiting Microsoft and updating your computer to block this type of exploit (see Links below) then visit GetFirefox.com and Get Yourself a new browser that you can trust that will not be as easily exploited as Microsoft lets their browser be.
